-Difficult to afford to move out
-Difficult to afford to raise a family
-Dating culture completely screwed up; being single is a certainty unless you check 27 different boxes
-Cost of living makes saving for retirement next to impossible for many, so future looks grim
-Lack of male-only social spaces destroy camaraderie and morale leading to friendless lives

I bet an overwhelming majority of the suicides are by white men as well.

Modern men have all the pressure of supporting a family but also all the responsibility of keeping the family together. Modern society tells women that when you are unhappy you "deserve better" and just leave.
Divorces happen in groups and run through friend circles. This is part of that. Men feel helpless and have always been told to be tough and not show it.
Sometimes that just makes the problem worse. Instead of having the courage to get professional help, they just swallow it until they can't handle it anymore.

I imagine for the over 75 guys a lot of it is health related. I can see going out on your own terms instead of slowly wasting away in a nursing home from terminal illness.
