From the documentary, did you ever notice how sugars are the only percent of daily allowance not included on the standard nutrition labels? Sugar lobby got the govt to leave it off. Because people would lose their shite if they knew how much they were consuming.
Again, what does this have to do with being "bad for you?"
Yeah, they'd shite because they realize they're intaking 2000 calories of sugar, but that doesn't make it any less or more bad for you.

This is not true. Your body does not need ANY sugar. In fact you'd be healthier without it.
Yes it does for insulin production. And my use of "sugar" there was very broad. It didn't solely mean table sugar. There is plenty of sugar in whole grain breads to meet the needs of most people. Without it in your system, your body can go into ketosis, which despite the Keto diet claims is not a healthy state to be in long term.
Perhaps I should have just said carbs.

Inactivity. People have eaten sugar forever and we've never had this bad of a weight issue. Everything in moderation.

Dude STFU please, you have no clue what you are talking about and are essentially the equivalent of an anti vaxer
Stop falling for the bullshite. Bottom line is carbs and sugar are not bad so long as you do not go over your caloric maintenance and eat your protein requirements(examine.com has the studies on protein requirements for different groups)

While I understand your statement doesn't heavy starch food like bread and pasta turn into sugar and most Americans are not active enough to compensate for this?
You are saying
Every study and meta analysis shows that so long as you are meeting your caloric requirements for your particular goals and eating the correct amount of protein for your age/activity levels/requirements that the rest of the macronutrient make up of the rest of the diet matters very little.
Sure nutritional timing can help with nutrition partitioning, but in the grand scheme it's not gonna make a big difference. Below is the pyramid of fat loss from Dr Layne Norton's fat loss forever book

Thanks for the link!
So I lost 25lbs 2 years ago and have kept it off by following a Keto diet for about 6 months. Now after initial weight loss I do not "Keto" any longer just do not eat or drink sugary foods or drinks. I also do not eat pasta, breads, or potatoes except in small portions but do eat enough not to be in ketosis.
I do agree age has nothing to do with it because when I stated eating healthy I lost weight just like when I was younger. I think people are just more active when younger and the reason they kept weight off I know that was the case of me.

Where did they talk about weight? They are just saying that we consume too much sugar and it’s 100percent true.
Posted on 7/11/19 at 8:56 am to StickD
The sugar refinery in Chalmette produces 7M lbs of sugar everyday. And that’s just 1 of several refineries nationwide
Let that sink in

Can you provide a link that says metabolism materially slows down because I can provide some that say matabolism in your 40s still functions ~95% as it does in your 20s

Funny how that works, you believe a fricking movie over the actual science.
So you think no science or expert opinion was included in the documentary? Ok.

It's a combination of inactivity and poor diet. I'm not as active as I should be, but maintain a healthy weight because I watch what I eat. My co-worker is at the gym 3-4 days a week, and is overweight because he eats like shite. Anecdotal, but it comes down to caloric intake and outtake. He obviously consumes more calories than he burns, while I consume jsut enough to maintain my weight at a healthy level.

If half the morons that blame sugar could see what comes through military BCT versus 20 years ago they'd realize how true this statement is. Recruits are so physically (and mentally) weak that it's impossible to get a significant number them to a point that they can reliably pass the three-event APFT in one BCT cycle. The new PT test is going create platoons of holdovers due to injuries and failures instead of the few squads we have now.

In what context? It doesn't cause health issues in a normal healthy person if not ingested in a caloric deficit or at caloric maintenance levels. Plenty of studies support this.
All of you getting upset at me for posting the truth, go look at the scientific data, read it for yourself and make your own conclusions.
My personal opinion is for the average non weight lifting person is total carbohydrate intake should be limited to about 100g a day, simply because that is enough to keep you out of ketosis and allow some dietary flexibility but low enough to make it easy to stay in a caloric deficit. But science says it doesn't matter so long as you are consistent with hitting your calorie & protein targets.
