When did I say anything about keto? Or any particular type of diet?

data in studies showing that when left to eat ad-lib...those people just don't eat as much due to the satiation effects of low carb eating. Those studies equating protein are just not a real world representation of dieters and losing weight. Hunger drives us and hormones drive hunger.

I agree with you and have even posting the study proving you right, but not everyone reacts that away and calories are still what matters and keto is still really inflexible for most people.

Demonization of sugar and saying one shouldn't eat it is championing a low carb approach which is essentially advocating for a ketogenic approach

I know and I like to give you shite. Challenging one's beliefs is the only way to growth.

I just acknowledge it has no real metabolic advantage other than it does allow body fat loss from lower blood flow areas like the stomach easier than isocaloric. I also acknowledge it is a detriment to performance for almost everyone.
The only problem is it does, ~300 caloric difference found by Kevin Hall himself, he doesn't acknowledge it. Isocaloric is the "cheat code" that those studies use to say there is no advantage, but in reality there is. Also, those statements don't really jive together. There is metabolic advantage if fat loss is easier than something else (underline). And, we have a couple of studies with Noakes and one or two on weightlifting showing a drop in performance for the first 1-3-4 weeks. After which, the performance loss is negligible. Its all about adaptation, of which, everyone is different.

Saturday and not feel guilty, to have a candy bar if they are on their period, to live a normal life and only worry about two things. It allows the. To correct and adjust for one bad night. It allows flexibility.
This is where I think you talk out both sides of your arse. To say that keto allows for no flexibility and then state that they can go out with their friends and not feel guilty...when that one slip can lead to a week to three weeks worth of destruction. Counting calories is just as hard, maybe harder, than counting carbs. I believe caloric counting requires more discipline due to a person needing more calories to feel full. I believe the flexibility lies in breaking the need for the sugar hit...and total removal is needed. Sugar is addicting, whether mental or physical, I just don't care - the shite is bad. Everyone needs to watch coworkers graze like animals. The constant eating - which we all agree here - is just not natural.
