This shot was undoubtedly illegal but it should be legal. This country would be a lot better off if criminals major and petty alike were at risk of being blown away whenever they tried to victimize someone. Don’t be a piece of shite and there won’t be a problem.

I cant dispute that at all but that video is damning as far as breaking the law, rules of engagement, whatever. You cant pull a gun from a bag after the fact.

This I agree with.
However, as others have pointed out, the guy will be charged with some form of homicide because he returned to shoot.
As stupid as it is, they will say he was no longer in danger and then returned to shoot.
I think it was 100% justified because frick around and find out instances like that, the attacker got what he deserved and society is better for it.
Our system is broken in favor of the sucker punch loser, and now the guy who took the trash out will definitely catch a case. Hope he doesn’t, but most laws are pretty clear when lethal force is used.
If he would’ve shot the guy while still on the ground, then I’d say he gets off easy.

He will be charged with murder, because once he was able to get up, flee and was no longer in immediate harm, he turned around and shot.

He was too stunned to think it through that clearly. My jury vote places the blame with the one who caused the stunning, or the one who started it. In this case, that is the same guy, and he is leaking. Done. Next.

How do any of us know the shooter was “safe”. Probably still dazed, he bought time to get his senses together enough to draw his weapon. Why are we assuming the puncher wouldn’t come after him in 2 seconds again having already made one unprovoked attack? Shooter could easily still be in fear of his own life. That is the standard after an attack and he didn’t want to give the attacker another opportunity.

By not being stupid we would not be seeing a lot of these types of videos. For Example:
1) Don't be punching people for no reason.
2) Don't run from cops if you did nothing wrong.
