This. I'm rolling with my manual transmission 2007 Mazda 6 as long as possible. It just hit 250k, and the only major repair has been a clutch replacement.

Audi #7 and BMW #8 - How much money did they pay for those ratings?

This isn't JD Power it is CR. They may be the most insulated reviewer of consumer products in the US review market. The Audi/BMW positions seem right for their recent cars. Perception lags behind reality in car reliability more than most products.

By all reports, BMW has come light years over the past decade.

Are there enough Rivian's on the road to even survey?

They're all here in Nashville. There's also a giant empty lot north of Franklin with about 75 sitting in it.

My first Subaru was a 2015 Outback Ltd which I still drive and has 354,000 miles. I bought my wife a Forester Wilderness two years ago because we had a great experience with the first one. High recommend Subaru if you want reliability, safety and a fair price. It’s a great car with great value.

What sucks is the Rivian truck looks like an actual truck, 100x better than the Tesla. I've ridden in one and the acceleration is absurd. I doubt I will ever buy an EV, for multiple reasons, but if I did I would have considered a Rivian. I had no idea the overall quality and customer satisfaction was so low.

they rushed this thing to market **SPECIFICALLY** to one-up elon after he announced the cybertruck and said it was going to be several years before it went into production.

I disagree with this take. I am thinking you are referring to their Turbos engines, which are known to have issues.

Really only the old EJ motors and that was just head gasket issues. The FA motors are tanks. The reason why turbo models have issues are because kids with parents money run the shite out of their Wrx’s without a care. Otherwise they’re solid engines.

Audi #7 ……hmmm

Idk…. Long time Audi driver various models have an a7 in garage for “collector”… I think it is pretty and it is my wife’s …..she puts about 1100 miles on it a year…
But I do not consider Audi reliable after the warranty is expired.. had a q5 for the dog car and traded it in for a Honda when hit 120k miles …. Maintaining it after that is very pricy..

My dad had a Q5 that literally drank oil. He had to drive around with a quart of it at all times to refill on a weekly basis.

There are dozens of us

I drove an EJ25 2009 Impreza before I bought my WRX five years ago. I never had a problem with either. I actually miss that EJ25 car a lot. GEICO finally totaled it out after people kept rear-ending me in Atlanta.

Do I drive my WRX like a reasonable adult? I think the motor encourages you to drive that way. From 2,500 to 4,500 rpm it has a really nice shove. Reminds me of an LS1, with just a hint of turbo lag.

I can't imagine having anything other than a Subaru as my personal vehicle. After I'd had my Impreza a couple of months, I remember thinking that it felt much safer than anything else I'd owned.

Toyota not immune from teething issues but unlike Big3, at least Toyota doing the right thing by improving their designs & replacing these engines. BTW, didn’t Tundra just pass Ram in sales?!?
