You pay for the privelige of getting fricked with by “condo commandos” ostensibly under the guise of keeping property values up.
No clue where you guys have lived but I've lived in HOA neighborhoods in all 3 houses I've bought, never had a single issue with my home and more importantly, no issues with my neighbors.

Same.
My question is how the hell did they convince the residents to vote Yes to this.
Unless it is some sort of dictatorship hoa.

They should all just put reverse peep holes on their garage doors so people can check on what's inside if they want to.

Most are I agree. I'd tell these assholes to go pound sand.

You wouldn't want people in Louisiana to leave their garage doors open all day. Most have stuff stacked top to bottom in there. They cannot even park in their garage.

HOAs can be good if they are invisible and behind the scenes doing the what needs to be done to keep the neighborhood up, but when they nitpick or try to enforce silly rules they can be hell to deal with and honestly, there is not much you can do to fight it. Common sense should always apply, but sometimes does not and that is when you are screwed.

This is what happens when people join HOA's because they want someone to think for them.
Its almost like they need someone to tell them what to do with their own house and land.

Not really.....it's bc most residents don't attend HOA meetings or get involved.

So they dont have to attend and get told what to do?
How is that not having to think for ones self?

Apparently someone had a person living in their garage.

I thought about this after I posted but I think it has more to do with being lazy physically than anything else

You must live in a crappy neighborhood where the rents would be so cheap that the HOA would actually worry about this

I like my HOA but this is painfully stupid.
It’s like saying, just set all your stuff on your driveway from 8-4 and everything should be good.
When bikes, tools, lawn equipment all start disappearing, the HOA is gonna have issues

What's the reasoning here? The HOA can go frick themselves.

I'd say just shoot the intruder, but can you even use deadly force to defend property in California?

California has the castle doctrine.

As an alternative to filing suit, I'd put a stop to this by painting "F**k the Auburn Greens HOA" in 6-foot block letters across the inside back wall of my garage.
