Oklahoma City meteorologist just shared this tweet. Talk about a horror scene. Forget sharks. Gators mean business as well.

If anyone outside of Covington/Mandeville needs assistance I have a group of friends with heavy equipment ready to go.

Tree cutting, etc..

They’re heading to Houma later tomorrow.

Someone sent me this TikTok video and I didn’t realize that was my wheelin’ buddy who’s a firefighter in Orleans Parish.

LINK

No injuries other than his pride. He’s got a lot of messages giving him shite headed his way when he gets back to the hotspot at the station.

No offense to your buddy, God knows we need more like him out there helping.

With that said, WTF did he think was going to happen as he was standing in the direct line of those lines as they cut what was holding them back?

I've always thought a plain-speak, no-nonsense, hold on to your asses type weather platform could gain some interest.

Itd be something like that. It appears theres some value to contextualizing center (SPC/NHC) forecasts. Also, just summarizing forecast stuff you'd normally have to dig through a thread for.

Since Id still want to post thoughts in these threads because in a disaster, Id be a shitty person to charge or ask for donations when people are in need.

This has come up in every single hurricane thread on this site but no one has done it. People need a laymen's weather site where pros can speak down if you will so people understand what they are seeing. Not sure why it's never been done, message boards aren't as profitable as they once were with Facebook groups all over the place.

Then again, that "Tropical Storm Central" Facebook group is complete trash with a moron posting single models runs with no context. He gets people all freaked out for nothing. He posted that 2nd 'potential' system days ago with one single CMC run that had a direct hit on SELA. People were losing their shite.

A site where you could get the kind of info you, rds, Boat, and the other knowledgeable folks bring without 79 pages of the rest of the BS would be worth a subscription/Patreon/what-have-you.
