The western eye sat on Houma damn near all day.
It became evident fairly early on that Houma would never sniff the dreaded NE wall.

Sure the west wall got kind of close. Then it bolted straight NE.

Now it’s headed back NW. That’s all I’m saying.

Looks more like it’ll go through the town of Livingston.

Updated path:

Between Frost and Springville
Between Livingston and Holden
Near Magnolia
Between Pine Grove and Jack
Between Darlington and Greensburg
Between Chipola and Easleyville

Then Miss.

Conditions seem to be improving slightly in AP. Gusts are still strong but less frequent

Them baws know anything bout fixn' transmission lines?

There’s no shortage of skilled labor and equipment staged to jump in as soon as it’s all clear. I do worry about supplies though, especially things like towers. This may end up getting the San Juan stitch job like after Maria.

Are these the power lines that are down? These cross the river at the 9 Mile plant but I read earlier that NOLA get it's juice from Waterford 3 in Hahnville.

Are these the Power Lines

Transmission underground is extremely difficult

If the line that feeds New Orleans is inside out 2 miles away floating in the river how does the French Quarter have power even if the lines are underground. Where does the power that supplies those lines come from?

Behind the Demco off of Wax. Sitting on my swing drinking bourbon and coke, taking it all in.

I think I am currently on the east side of the eye. Winds have dropped down to almost nothing compared to just a short time ago

When we lost four towers during gustav we were back up in 6 days.

It just depends on what they are, what’s available and how it failed. Big difference between a 115kV and a 500kV.

Its bad there, without a doubt.

The damage from Hurricane Ida was widespread and extensive in Louisiana. Houma, Louisiana was hit very hard."
