Is it just the two of you there? Can someone else find something heavy to brace and support it?

Termites in framing?

What else would cause a collapse like that?

The center of #Ida is now crossing the latitude of New Orleans, meaning the worst of the wind is likely over for the city.

Dangerous conditions will continue into the night, especially from a flooding perspective as bands continue to drop very heavy rain even behind the center. LINK

Entergy's total failure in NOLA could lead to flooding disaster if the rain totals aren't kind. Sadly, not even remotely shocking news.

I'm flickering hard in Tara. AC is down to 66 to see if we can get through the night.

My home is on the prairieville gonzales line. How is it looking over there?

Very windy, gusty, at least as bad as Gustav was. I'm hearing transformers blow and limbs falling. Getting dark now so it will be hard to see if trees fall but with the way the wind is, that seems a certainty.

I really did live on Napoleon in 2005. I just used the OT cliche.

Might even have been where I lived. Some of the large houses between St Charles and Claiborne are divided into apartments.
