I still haven't slept and im in Columbia. Weather fascinates me.

The fact that this thing is still getting stronger this close to land is amazing and scary at the same time.

The center will probably pass 40 miles from New Orleans and the eye wall is about 40 miles wide. So the worst of the storm will be only 20 miles south of New Orleans. Way too close of a cat 5 pass to just wing it with how they ran the New Orleans prep.

At least they will be safe at the bars from covid.

Why anyone would stay is crazy. Im expecting power to be out for at least a week at my place uptown.

Grew up in Galliano, currently living in Lockport. Drove the wife and 3 little ones to Galveston yesterday morning. Family first!

I cannot pray enough for our community!
Stay safe and God Bless.

I asked previously but no answer, any chance Ida goes through ERC and weakens some at any point before landfall?

Did a quick look at other storms to hit this part of LA and see that Betsy took the exact same path. This storm is Hurricane Betsy 2.0, maybe a bit stronger, which is ominous since Betsy is one of the worst storms to ever hit LA (Katrina, Camile, Betsy). I started a separate thread with some pics and info about Betsy. Storm path is same as IDA's forecast.

Look on the bright side. If you handle this well and don’t freak out while the worst is happening, you’ll be a better man on the other side.
If you shite your drawers, though, the animals will lose respect for you.

Man I’m already exhausted. May have to take a Pre-storm nap so I can go hard on the weather in a few hours.

I’m not expert but I doubt it. If that was going to happen in enough time to weaken it before landfall, you would probably have to already be seeing signs of it on radar. I don’t think we are seeing that

So you went from one place with 30-40 mph winds to another?

So did all the intensity models whiff?? I’m seeing 155 fricking mph at landfall today.

Really wish the leadership here hadn’t spent the last year+ pissing off God
