I’m not expert but I doubt it. If that was going to happen in enough time to weaken it before landfall, you would probably have to already be seeing signs of it on radar. I don’t think we are seeing that

We’re 3 hours from landfall so not a chance. Even if one began it wouldn’t weaken it significantly enough to have much of an impact on what anyone below highway 90 sees.

Any way to see what’s happening in/near Venice live? Family evacuated from Venice to the Westbank (which may not have been far enough) but is curious if they will have a house to come home to.

Also, should family in Hammond be running north at this point? Or just ride it out?

I asked previously but no answer, any chance Ida goes through ERC and weakens some at any point before landfall?

Nope. She’s not slowing down enough and is actually dropping in pressure. Ida is what she is now

Well, intensity models fricked up.
I'm going to assume I won't have a house at worst, or a roof at best.
I'm going back to sleep

Want to know the difference between your wife and a dog? Lock both of them up in the trunk of a car for 3 hours. Then let them out. One of them will be happy to see you.

Personally, I don’t know why you would leave BR unless you are worried about tree or water damage . If you have a solid structure, this far inland we should be fine. It won’t be pleasant but it won’t likely be life - threatening winds or water.

BR is more about trees, like you said, but also just being without power for a week or 2. In August.

This storm is displaying classic Fibonacci characteristics. At this point radial inflow is “perfect”... not looking good. Prayers to everyone in Louisiana
