Any reports on the traffic up 49 this morning?
Currently in Carencro right off I-49 staring at it and it’s wide open. Good luck.

reading this thread it blows my mind that people stayed

Personally, I don’t know why you would leave BR unless you are worried about tree or water damage . If you have a solid structure, this far inland we should be fine. It won’t be pleasant but it won’t likely be life - threatening winds or water.

The area of no rain was there an hour and a half ago, too.
It was storming at the radar site. Do you know where the radar site is?
quote:
Yeah ok, but you were saying there was rain there, but the radar couldn't see through it. You were wrong.
That’s what happened. Don’t check me if you’re gonna bring that dumbass shite.

There were a few of us who stayed up last night watching it happen.
It was like a car wreck you couldn't look away from

My daughter (4) just said, "daddy, if the power goes out and I can't watch Sophia can we go to the park?"
I needed that this morning

quote:Probably a worst case scenario track for the westbank. Eye passing just to the west will push a ton ot storm surge up Barataria Bay but then even after the eye passes, you’ll still have a southerly wind keeping that surge from receding. Westbank levee system about to to tested like never before
I’m on the Westbank how fricked am I?

So I guess those intensity models showing this would drop to a cat 2 were bogus.
Intensity (either way) is by far the hardest to predict accurately.. the NhC said 4 and that will be pretty close no matter what happens from here.
