And the government here has zero ability to organize such an operation. Therefore the advice is to hunker down is possibly the safest option.

Agreed on that segment. But there is a segment of Baws and Bawettes between people like us (proactively seeking information) and those folks (100% dependent on the Government to do everything for them) that would have evacuated yesterday which would have put less strain on emergency services the next few days IF there was leadership giving more visual clues: Emergency Alert Texts, Contra Flow, Constant Press Conferences urging those that can leave to leave immediately, etc.

People survive hunkering down in storms all the time. If there’s no threat of water and flooding I don’t think you are putting your life at risk by staying in Metairie or Baton Rouge

I don’t remember who it was, but someone set up an anemometer In Cameron and it didn’t make it through. If I remember right, they eventually found it 30 miles away

True enough. And so the good folks of New Orleans continue to suffer at the hands of bad government.

The people from Houma to the Gulf are absolutely risking their lives.

Grand Isle will be in the eye wall around 10 am. It’s going to go downhill in SELA quick after breakfast.

God damn. She's not what I wanted to see upon waking, though it was expected.

Good luck everyone. The next 36 hours are going to be a wild ride.

Jay Grimes told me Friday night on tv that this would not be a repeat of 2016. That was a bold statement so early, but damn I’m holding him to it.

I remember people saying worst case scenario was a cat 5 going up the river. We're like 10 mph and 50 miles from that scenario having played out. Crazy. Hope this fricker speeds up.

I live in Arabi and when I saw it was forecasted to be a cat 4 on Friday night I made my decision to leave. Left Saturday morning. I’d rather leave and not really have needed to than stay and wish I did leave.

Be safe Baws.
