I've wathced/tracked hundreds of tornadoes over the years. This feeling I have tonight is the same I get when I see a TDS heading toward a city I know is full of people. It is a hopeless, powerless feeling.

It means you know how people still talk about Katrina almost 20 years later. Ida is like that. It’s going to maybe not be the exact same in that same areas but it’s going to bad, real bad.
Cat 4 or 5 it doesn’t matter. It’s the surge and flooding and it’s coming it at high tide. If you can get out do it now and go north. Every mile you can get away from landfall will make a huge difference.

Do y’all get the impression that more people than normal decided to ride this one out? That’s kind of what it seems like to me - that life has been such a drag these last 18 months and traveling with COVID kind of sucks, so more people were just like “frick it”.
Anyhow… praying for everybody riding it out - get some rest if you can.

I'm serious, I got all you baws in my prayers. Got dam and friends that been through tornadoes and lost everything. If y'all trying to relocate permanently Memphis needs some good hardworking folks. We also need some feaux chefs to be put in their place. We could also use a little influx of jazz musicians. Saw a band tonight that wishes they were the average brass band in NOLA. We are good people and welcome with open arms. Peace and be safe.
