My dad is in NOLA and plans on leaving at 6 AM. I don’t know how that’s gonna happen. I’m shaking right now

Exactly. At this point I’m staying put. No sense in trying to leave now. I never ever thought I’d ever consider leaving for a hurricane. Ever.

How well formed will the eye be when it gets to Livingston Parish and how big will the eye be? Will parts of EBR be inside the eye wall, according to the latest track?

It would have been possible if it was this strong earlier in the morning... It's to late now, God help everyone in the path..
It’s possible at any time.. it doesn’t have to compete the cycle to help lower the highest winds.. every little bit helps at this point. We need something to stop the momentum..
Otherwise, we are looking at a monster that will be more like a child of Katrina & Camille.. with a dash of Harvey on top. No one wants that.

EBR, Ascension, and Livingston will all get the eye wall.

I can’t believe I actually considered staying. I’m shook right now. I legit think I won’t have a home to go back to. I’m worried about all my neighbors and family who didn’t leave. I’m mad actually, that people stayed.

"If you are still in Houma, get everything, get in the car and go. Roadways are clear.
This is going to be devastating."

That pic really reminds me of Rita. We only evacuated to Leesville for that one. I was scared shitless. Had to cut through 5 giant pines just to get out of the driveway.

With two kids under 3, would you leave town or stay with nearby family who has new house and whole house generator in Metairie
Finally convinced my kids to get out of the BR area at 9pm. They headed west on I-10, said traffic was just a little worse than normal. They also have small kids that young.

Help me out, I’m dumb, is that good or bad?
Also, I have parents in Ascension that want me to come stay with them tomorrow, would there be an discernible difference between going there vs staying at my apartment near LSU? I’m gonna go for their peace of mind but I’m just curious, lived here my whole life and I’m spooked

Tell them you woke up with a fever & cough and then get a COVID test in East Texas.

Probably not much of a difference. Where do you feel more comfortable? Either one would probably be equally devastating.

Lafayette has to be a better proposition than New Orleans right now right?
I wonder if I can beg people to leave.
