Staying? Leaving?

Staying. New house, new neighborhood. But we have a few water oaks behind the house.

Mine said WiFi or turn airplane mode off. I had cell service though so couldn’t really test it

Your phone doesn't have an radio to communicate any other way. Wifi or cell network.

That app is using one of the two. So any app you had before is just as capable.

Have you seen LC tempered windows in the high rises?

Curious to see if hurricane force winds have expanded. They were at 40 miles from center earlier.

Think it’s worth leaving Metairie and heading to Waveland, Ms (folks have a place there) at this point or just stay put?

I can only tell you I have hurricane windows which are rated up to a Cat 3 for wind. Flying debris obviously wouldn’t care about that.

I cannot imagine that people stayed in Grand Isle. Of all places you leave, this is the one you 100% leave.

I know I wont be able to make it home when i get off at 4:30 am Mon morning. Convinced the wife to take the kids and stay with her sister. I know most the land owners in my area. Told her once I secured a route the 8 miles from her sisters house to ours I'll get her and the kids and we'll get home by ATV.

Im exhausted already and tomorrows night shift hasnt even started

yeah they sure were.
we are prepped and safe away from the tree hazard. There’s no way we could have stayed thru this at our house.

I saw some shite after Katrina I’d just as soon never see again. I’m just a little spooked is all

Well sleeping on an air bed in the living room with my two girls (6 and 4)watching movies. They are enjoying this hurricane party so far. Hopefully I can keep them up late and they can sleep through the shite tomorrow and I don’t scar them for life.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to evacuate from a hurricane to Waveland, even if the hurricane is going to NY.

Seriously though, you're going to get some surge over there. Obviously nothing crazy but I'd try to get a little farther away than that.
