They have been saying that for a century. Those people will never stop rebuilding. Even when it seems like there’s nothing to rebuild on.

Trending East? Lake Charles National weather center said it jogged a little west in their last update and said it would probably continue to jog back and fourth.

Yea, but my post is purely speculation until recon shows back up. I would typically be much more concerned if Ida had emerged off Cuba and was trying to spin up a pinhole eye. However, I'm sure there are other hot takes out there talking about how impressive Ida is currently looking.

Any news on how things look heading West towards Houston?

Will be leaving soon for Austin. May be taking some backroads.

It just feels like in the forecast last night they were expecting a much more powerful storm by now 12+ hours later. That has to be a good sign.

Certainly true, wish we had recon out right now. I could see the core around a larger eye not being fully established, thus preventing Ida from maximizing the trip over the loop current. Have to wait and see.

There was some discussion early am about possibly pulling in some dry air. That still in play?

Not sure what good it’ll do, damn storm had huge burst in NE quad right after it pulled some in.

It’s still gotta get through the super hot water pocket that it hasn’t entered yet so I’ll wait to get too happy

Agree but rapidly increasing from 85 is better than rapidly increasing from 100+ which is forecast to be by now.

I don't mean to preach this, but Katrina went from a 1 to a 5 in 13 hours. Will that happen? Likely not. But it has plenty of time to get a 4. Let's just hope it ramps up slowly rather than too quick.
