What’s the consensus for removing some fence boards on standard wood fences? Worthless for a storm this strong? Good idea to possibly keep the fence up?

I would try. Just depends how bad the winds are in your area but I know slot of people who do.

I just linked the traffic cams at 10/110. Hear its flowing better than folks trying to go east though.

Our water comes from wells. Other than chlorination there’s no treatment involved.

But your question is still applicable. I’m not sure if the water wells have a back up generator

I’ll put it this way: I’ve been on the middle of Baton Rouge for over 13 years. Never lost water

That's what I thought, we're in South BR, and I'm not worried about potable water. But it's easier to just full up some buckets and jugs than to convince my wife otherwise.

These power companies that coordinate these efforts are very good at how they handle this

Agreed. Although in the past, we have had people come in from around the country to get power back up. If other locations are short handed, will we get the same numbers to help this time.

This looks encouraging for Lafayette Area… is the west side supposed to be weaker than expected?

This is one of my biggest gripes with some of these local weather guys. They would have you think that this storm will have as big of an impact on Baton Rouge that Laura did for Lake Charles. It's all relative. It's not physically possible for Baton Rouge to experience the same type of event purely due to its geographical location but the local guys won't explain that.

DeRidder to BR is a better comparison.
LC is not.

We are in Houston for Tennis Sectionals and the hotels here were almost all tennis bookings until last night and this morning. It’s crazy here and traffic is worse today - Saturday - than it was in Friday evening traffic. Houston will not be an easy drive.
