ETA: Yeah, pretty accurate. As with all predictions, they get more accurate as time to impact decreases.

My GF does Hurricane work for UF.
She is saying very simply..get the frick out now. This is going to be very bad. Do not understand why evacuations aren’t mandatory because this storm could be horrific.

Anybody know why Hammond, which is about 25 miles west and closer to the storm than covington would be getting its max winds 4 hours after covington? Is that a function of the shape of the NE eyewall or the trajectory of approach?
