Used my full weekly allotment plus two free resets letting gpt-5.5 /xhigh think build my own voice assistant. Should be smoke testing today.

facebook unlocked all their old portal devices for full android development and apparently they're really good HA devices. going to BR to pick up a portal+ gen 2 today for $50.

yeah i can control HA stuff in google home, but i don't want to use google home hardware if i don't have to. for example, i can cast apple music to in-ceiling speakers connected to a wiim by speaking to google home, but i can't then control the music through music assistant on my dashboard.
in a perfect world, i'd just let HA control the smart home stuff and then route deep thinking questions to an LLM but it seems like voice functionality in HA is kind of a pain to get working well.

cad i've been doing a lot of research into HA voice control because i want to get off of google home entirely but it just seems like there aren't any really good voice satellites and if there are the voice controls inside HA don't really work and it's just not really a great implementation. have you made any decisions about which way you want to go?

If our two best pitchers got hurt for most of the season, that doesn't say much for the kid that was supposed to be a 1st round draft pick who just completed his sophomore season if you don't think he's better than a transfer from Kansas who barely pitched this year.

The coaches keep telling you it's a year to year thing for rosters and players but if you're a pitching coach and produce the worst pitching staff in modern school history you can always fall back on last year.
They'll just say 2/5 is an insane number of titles in modern CBB which is true but that doesn't mean anything moving forward.

It turns out I’m an idiot (maybe unsurprising to some of you)
I had my picture glance cards using the same camera stream twice somehow. Fixed it and now my camera streams behave perfectly. I ordered a ratgdo to get my garage door in HA and that will finish off my first dashboard.

Jay Johnson missing on an entire portal class is a bigger problem than Perfect Game or Kendall Rogers missing on an entire portal class.
