How valuable would it be for me if it shifts East again and I end up 30 miles or so West from center of circulation?

At this point, you’re not really gonna know the difference. The only thing that’s changed is the location of some black pixels on whatever screen you’re looking at. The overall situation essentially remains the same now as it did an hour ago.

If HWRF and HMON shift east then it will really be an eye opener. If they hold steady then people will begin the “back west” chatter. It’s like wobble watching but with models. I’ll let the GFS and EURO duke it out. If the NHC nudges east again in 3 hours then I will feel a lot better here in BR.

Katrina was far East of Houma. Have to think even Gustav was higher than during Katrina.

So the Western Wall may have been pushing water out. If Houma is on the eastern wall that could mean what, 25'?

For sure, especially if it keeps shifting East.

My parents bugged out of BSL.

My parents still in BR and sister in new build in Long Beach not far from shoreline. Fully expecting to make trip to either next week to aid in recovery with that said.

Same. Have a young one so the power is the only thing I’m worried about. But everyone in my neihhhorhood says it’s usually back in very quickly.

During every hurricane thread I wish I would learn the ins and outs of these storms. Then I realize it’s wayyyy above my pay grade. I’ll just come for the few (aka duke and rds) who actually know their shite and the comic relief

Are you in a flood zone and are you without a generator?

If you answered yes to either, IMO it's time to make plans to leave, to each their own tho.

If I live in west St. Tammany, the storm is closest to me when it is at the same latitude or is it more problematic when it is southwest of me? Mostly concerned about wind. How can one of the past graphs only suggest I'd get 58 mph max gusts?
