If you are evacuating, you may want to turn the water off to going into your house. Your local water company may have to flush lines after the storm which could result in blow out connections under sinks and toilets. This is especially true for older homes. Hate to make it through a storm with minimum damage only to have a few inches of water from a busted connector.

This is probably the center being tugged toward the big blowup of storms that happened this morning. Will need to watch to see if this is a temporary trend or has any impacts on track down the road.

If you live in Nola I would highly consider getting out as soon as you can if you have plans too. Being from nola if you wait to late it can be a pain in the arse trying to leave. I know people hate bringing up Katrina but when we left too late it literally took us about 5 hours to get from Nola to Hammond. It was an absolute cluster frick. Like I said not trying to fear monger just trying to give advice to those on the border of leaving or staying.

Famous last words, but it CURRENTLY does not seem necessary to evac NOLA. That obviously could change really rapidly.

I appreciate mixed messages because it helps fricking stagger people. The more the better, in my view.

Mandeville - plan on heading out, Can work remote so it doesn’t really matter where I do it from. Don’t see/hear any reason from the meteorologists suggesting this thing can’t really Bomb out.

almost positive this is false because the levees aren't rated by wind speed.

Just repeating what I heard on local news. I don’t think they’re rated by wind speed, but by storm surge.

The shear really lightened up over the NW Caribbean compared to what it was yesterday allowing it to strengthen. There's still a little bit it's heading towards through the Yucatan Channel but nothing like yesterday.
