This is like an advertisement disguised as a plea for help.

Steinway lasted hundreds of years but Trump was just too much. Believe what you want, if you want to be a moron.

Spruce is for annoying acoustic guitars. John Belushi had the right idea in Animal House when it comes to acoustic guitar music and singing.

Real guitars are made with Maple, Ash, Rosewood, Mahogany or Alder and often times Ebony.

Sauter pianos are made with German spruce from the Alpine regions. Some argue they are superior to Steinway.

Steinway also has a German wing of the company that sources the same wood as Sauter. Some people also prefer the German Steinways.

However, this is about American Steinways, built in America, with American wood.

Went on a cruise to Alaska this spring. When we stopped in Ketchican, we had a bus driver who was a native . He told us about the industries that had been there and basically how the federal government had screwed both of them up, specifically how it had impaired the native ability to make a living, especially with the elimination of controlled logging, contrary to what they had promised. He also said they completely screwed up the fisheries management.

Basically, saying they are losing the youth, not because there is no desire to stay, but because there is no work to be had outside of tourist season.

The government rarely makes things better.

An executive order from President Trump, a memo from Forest Service Acting Associate Chief Chris French, and a lawsuit we filed against the USDA earlier this year haven’t been enough to get the Forest Service to stop starving the industry.

Maybe I’m reading this wrong, but it seems to me that Trump and his administration are trying to help the situation.

I guess I must be missing something. If the forest service is defying an XO, why aren't they being rounded up and thrown in jail?

Sadly, it did not mention "Stradivarius", but he just made fiddles.

Stradivari used spruce from the Italian Alps just like Fazioli pianos do today. Steinway has a signature sound just like most of the high-end pianos and while it is the best known by the public there are several others rated as high or higher by pianists. They wouldn't sound the same without their Sitka spruce soundboards.

Since the wood is used in military vehicles, seems it’s a national security issue and Trump can personally take control as CIC and fire the problem people at the forest service. If they aren’t following the law/agreement and ignoring his EO, seems potential criminal charges could be threatened

I hope this gets rectified

It isnt a Trump issue and it isn't a Biden issue, nor is it a surprise or unexpected.

Biden ignored his own Executive Order that was supposed to have curtailed old growth logging on Federal land. That logging actually increased significantly in the last year and a half or so of the Biden administration, resulting in the EO essentially being shelved. Trump then took office and signed an EO overriding the Biden EO and supposedly "ramping up" our timber industry and increasing logging on Federal land. This order, of course, in no way addresses the main problem faced in the US timber industry......the bottleneck at our limited number of mills.

Meanwhile, on the ground, none of that bullshite really matters because national forests are all under individual management plans developed and overseen by the USFS. Those plans are usually for ten or twenty year timeframes with an occasional ammendment to the plan. Those efforts and plans are insulated to the whims of politics for a reason......because you can have no "plan" if it is changed every year or two.

This timber company and mill knows and understands that the Tongass NF is under a management plan. They also know that (from what I can tell) that plan is due to be renewed next year and a significant amendment process is currently ongoing. They may not like the direction that plan may be going, thus the OP-ed piece written by company council with the goal of swaying public opinion.

Your takes in this thread are nothing short of retarded. It's clear you've never been in any sort of band or created any sort of music yourself.

I'd say 90% or more of every popular rock song you've ever heard was created first with the musician(s) playing an acoustic guitar or piano as they write/come up with melodies. You generally don't compose rock/alternative/even hard rock songs with electric guitars and full stack amps blaring.

Steinway has a longstanding historical relationship with lumber suppliers in the region, with a partnership dating back to 1994.

What did they do prior to 1994

China in fact does manufacture pianos for Steinway and Sons at Pearl River Piano Group. This is the largest piano manufacturer and factory in the world. The models are listed under the Essex piano line and are produced at Pearl River for substantially less than the Steinway pianos manufactured in New York City and Hamburg, Germany

Steinway piano’s became well known when German products were boycotted because of the wars. They replaced the German pianos and it was discovered that they had a brighter tone that worked really well in the large music halls in New York, etc, and the legend was born. As others point out, a poano sound boards made from different materials sound different. Some of the new Chinese pianos actually have excellent quality as they source the materials from China and produced in very modern factories
