Yeah I get it and it makes sense. But I was merely suggesting that you could take opioids out of the equation and there would still be the same states ranking 1 thru 5.

Relatives of mine in rural Arkansas. Great great great grandmother is dead but would be 93. Great great grandmother is 77. Great Grandmother is 61. Grandmother turns 43 in a matter of days. Mother is 26. Children are ages 7, 5, 4, and 10 months. And this is not trashy where they reside. The grandmother is the one I grew up playing with when I was a child when we visited that pig hole. 
Mother has only ONE baby daddy and she takes care of kids. Husband is a mill baw bringing home nearly 6 figs.
They all raise one another basically. I am okay with that. She has never worked a day in her life -- none of them have. But shes not on drugs nor welfare.

This explanation, I don’t get.
I still don’t think that opioid prescriptions are the CAUSE of grandparents raising grandchildren. I think it’s two independent social problems that appear together and the census bureau is trying to imply that one might cause the other where it seems to me as though most of the people on the OT think that the two problems affect two different races predominantly.

Nice way of blaming personal irresponsibility on opoid addiction.
Lots of grandparents raising kids around here - don't know of any that have anything to do with opoids (meth, crack, irresponsibility, and mojo brain frying is mostly what we see here)
