Love that this is happening. Just looking at the site prep, do any local companies have a significant advantage just by being in the area?
For example sand and gravel. Very transportation cost sensitive. Is there a nearby source with an advantage or does barge/ship transport make that a non factor?
Rental equipment guys. Are those franchises where the local owner is about to be very rich.
Any companies on the intracostal in that area that can participate in this?
And does SpaceX have a preferred contractor or do they do the project management in house?

Cajun does lots of civil work. Kewit is already down there building Venture Global. Port Aggregates is fairly large in the area.

Casinos. The construction workers are going to overwhelm LC.

I hated working under Cajun because they take safety to a level where it dramatically slows production down. For example, their safety guy at the Port of Lake Charles told us no music one day when our portable speaker was barely above speaking level. Another day he told us to take our Sawzall blade and battery out when we weren’t using it. Every single time. Those safety guys look for anything to frick up your day, and then the higher ups wonder why the job takes forever to complete.

Lots of folks wondering if that sugar cane land will finally be worth more than a few dollars a year per acre.

Mammoet
Mammoet will absolutely play a large role. These guys move some silly crazy heavy stuff. Saw one of their 'hauls' that had 364 total wheels touching the ground. Had a heavy haul tractor pulling and one pushing. I don't recall the gross weight of the entire setup including the hauling equipment and the payload but it something crazy heavy.
Example of what was trying to describe.

Hopefully some of the larger commercial GC’s get a bite at the apple. At least for control buildings and hangers and stuff. The big industrial firms are very busy with data centers anyway. And their safety is absolutely absurd.

I would be immediately building a strip club in Abbeville right now. Thousands of men down there working in the heat all day are gonna wanna have fun at night.

Companies that can move equipment and materials around the marsh should do well in the next couple of years.
