If someone were squatting in a home you own, is it illegal to show up with legally permitted firearms and throw them out? Or wait in hiding till they all leave and go in, change the locks, and throw shite in the streets. Wait till they return and say the party is over.

How can people be allowed to stay? Is it purely because the homeowner doesn't confront them?

I think after a certain amount of time you can't forcibly remove them. I don't think it would be a problem to change the locks and throw their stuff out when they aren't there though.

Squatter's laws are crazy.

Don't let squatters into your house in the first place.

Just take the doors off the hinges and take them with you.

Weird thing is that all squatters don't seem to be a normal homeless bum. So i would think spending a few hundred for new doors to get a free home is worth it to them.

Try throwing some bees/wasps nests in the house and see if the squatters can hold their breath

I'd pay for an hour or so of a lawyer's time. Squatter laws are insane, and screwing up can get you in jail.

If you own the home, call the Police and wait at a neutral location. Bring proof you own the home.. Advise you do not know the person, have never met them and that they do not have permission to be there. Decide at that point if you want to press criminal charges or if you just want them out. Profit.
Do not confront them prior to being with the police.

Call up Terminex and tent the house, either they are gone or dead

That actually just popped in my head, wonder if it would work.

While I get all that, the police cannot help you if the squatters claim any type of ownership of squatters rights... it becomes a civil issue at that point. Let the judge and the lawyers sort it out.

IMO the way to handle it is as stated earlier. Stake out your own home, find a time when they are not there, enter your home, defend it.

Wont work if they were renting from you. Cops will say its a civil matter.

It opens up the bowels and allows an easier flow through the colon.

I really thought this was a gym question. Could have helped with that but house squatters not so much.

Call the authorities.... there is no point in going in there guns blazing at people that already have nothing to lose (literally). But if they exhibit ownership to the property for a long enough amount of time they will actually become the rightful owners through adverse possession. In Louisiana the time frame is one year of uninterrupted possession.
