Speculate on capabilities the US military has that the public hasn’t seen

Aliens finally arrive (return?) and the US has to go all out. What do you think the public would see for the first time from our military?

An arse whooping of cosmic proportions.
Aliens: 1
Entire world: 0

That vampires are the ultimate weapon against aliens.

Tiny drones that can fly into your house or follow you to work undetected and kill you with a poison dart.

Tiny drones
People have made comments about how far we are behind in drone warfare because of what has been seen with Russia/Ukraine.
We had bad arse drones during the Iraq war that were being controlled by people in Florida and could fire missiles and such. No telling what all we have now, but I’m sure it’s much more advanced than most people realize.

Next gen stealth and drones
Directed energy weapons
Dominant cyber warfare
I also like the idea of Rods from God.

Gender neutral alien bathrooms.

This has been a real thing for at least 20 years. I dunno about the poison dart thing, but we've had tiny surveillance drones for a long time. Tiny enough that they can fly inside your house and you wouldn't notice them.

I do not know if they put it into production, but my father helped test a prototype for a “neutron beam gun“
It was a satellite that acted as an open ended particle accelerator. Shooting neutrons at warheads.
The prototype was test fired circa 1990 at the University of Chicago…. same place that developed the first nuclear reactor

I think a line of thinking that folks always get caught on when discussing aliens is considering them to be homogenous. When it is just as likely that there are zero aliens as there are thousands of different types/races/species of aliens, including ones that could have already fully integrated into our societies or hide in plain sight. I'd like to think those types would "help us" against new invaders.

Nice idea, but as it stands, extremely impractical. It is also impossible to deploy without everyone knowing it is there.

We definitely have hypersonic missiles and aircraft no one has ever seen.

We’re very good at big, expensive and complex systems and it handicaps us because we’re never really required to be innovative on a small, practical level. That’s why we get behind on things like simple drone tech/capabilities. We’re more concerned with building a new obsolete fleet group or super soldier system.
