There are over 7,000 billboards in Louisiana. That accounts for roughly 10% of the billboards nationwide!

Sportsman's Paradise. Just look around at the beautiful outdoors. Just take a look right around that bill board and litter.

The other 10% is advertising who is playing at the Beau Rivage next week.

10%? I have a hard time believing that but that is incredibly OT trashy if so. That's a lot of fricking billboards.

Some states don't have them. Vermont, Alaska, Hawaii, and Maine. I think much of Austin, TX doesn't allow them but I could be wrong on that.

"In Texas, 388 cities — including most large and medium-size cities — have ordinances prohibiting new billboards. One of them is Austin..."

"As it happens, Houston — legendary for sprawl and a zoning free-for-all — is a model city for billboard control. Since 1980, the number of billboards here has dropped from 15,000 to under 1,500."

"Dallas has also banned new billboards, but it made a deal with the billboard companies. For every three old billboards you take down, the city council said, we'll let you erect one new digital billboard."

I had read once that Atlanta had the most billboards on the highways than any other major city.
