Spam Calls from Similar Numbers As Your Own
For me it's always the same area code as me + the same first 3 digits. So if my number is (504)-222-3333 the spam call is always from a (504)-222-xxxx. So keep an eye out for that and just ignore those to save yourself time. As far as I can tell, the last 4 digits are always random and different every time so you can't block once and be done with it. I have spam blockers too, but these still sneak through (probably because they look legit having the same area code)

Yep. Been getting a bunch of them with the same first 3 digits as mine. I don't even bother answering.

"Rachel" with Card Services was calling me almost every other day to tell me there are no problems with my current credit card. She does sound hot though.

Got a call from the same first three of my number. It was someone on the other line saying I called them. It is annoying but I stopped answering any of them. If it is important they will leave a worthwhile message.

Mine is usually healthcare stuff

I ignore every call like these. Once, the call was from someone who apparently got called with my number showing up on her caller id and she actually returned the call left a message that she had missed a call from me.

says, i get tons of calls from numbers that are similar to 504-382-0454

I don’t answer any # that I don’t recognize. If it’s important enough, they’ll leave a voicemail.

Go get an Out of State phone number, then anytime you receive a "Local" call you know its bullshite.

I’m with AT&T and experienced the same problem as you
It’s was the same area code, same first three numbers, but the last four were the same... and it’s always be some older black guy asking if I had just called him... sometimes he’d ask for someone named shiela.. we both have no clue how this happens

On top of getting calls from similar numbers that are spam, I'm starting to get calls from actual people with similar numbers, because they got a call with a 2 second voice message from my number. Now I have to explain to this old man why he's getting phone calls from my number.

If it isn't in my Contacts list the caller can leave a voicemail.

It use to be if you didn't answer or end call, the calls would stop. This is non-stop regardless if I answer or not. Maybe i should just answer and waste their time. May be a fun game
I've done that before. Half the time you can't even get through to anybody-it just hangs up when you press 1, or rings with no answer. Like if you wanted to buy their bs you couldn't even be able to

This happened to me yesterday. It was one of the car warranty calls. I pressed 1 to talk to someone to mess with them, and just got a recording that said "all of our operators are too busy to take your call. Goodbye." I thought WTF? I reckon they'll be calling back again this evening so I can tell Apu Nahasapeemapetilon (a.k.a. Bill Smith) to go lick Kevin Spacey's balls.

No bullshite, this literally started happening to me this week.
I just block the frick out of those calls and it seems like that helps in the short term.. It's like I will get a rush of those calls until I block all of them.. Then it goes awhile without getting any then all of a sudden it's like a full out blitz, I start getting a bunch of them all at once.. again.

NPR Planet Money recently did a podcast on this very subject.
Things take an interesting expletives-laden turn when one of the reporters picks up the spam call and proceeds to stall the spammer who tries to help 'consolidate all her credit card balances into one single monthly payment'.

There are now a billion robocalls going to cellphones and landlines every month. Many of them look like they're from your neighbor.
It's not really your neighbor, of course. It's neighbor spoofing—which means using the internet to make it look like a scammer (who could be anywhere in the world) is calling from your area. When we asked our listeners if it's been happening to them... right away, we got about a thousand responses.
We know the basics: Scammers are impersonating nearby numbers. But why is it suddenly so popular? Who is on the other end of the line? And can they be stopped?

Yeah, I get Heather from Card Services. Almost 5 times a week. Sometimes weekends. I've tried pressing "2", I've pressed "1" for a real person (who hangs up on me), and I've let it go to voicemail. Most aggravating sh8t ever!

Yep, and I never answer. Had a call show up as my exact number as well.
