I've seen the Moonfall. This won't end well.

Somehow, some way, the impact of the rocket will cause the Moon's axial rotation to shift over the course of a few months, causing tidal imbalances on Earth, disturbing crustacean habitats and increasing crawfish prices.

all the space coincidences man.

Unless there’s some consideration I’m not thinking of, wouldn’t this be a straight up 50/50 coin flip?

Ok but why are we doing this?

What's the alternative? We're fresh out of spaceships that can catch the biggest rocket in history and haul it safely back to earth.

That second-stage rocket looks stupid.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this. Such recklessness will probably cause global warming, crawfish prices to rise, LSU fans wanting Kiffin fired after Week 7, and the Dallas Cowboys to lose in the Wild Card round.

There's only two options? Haul it back to earth or crash it into the moon?

Is this supposed to be impressive?
Rumor has it we sent men to the moon and returned them safely over 50 years ago.

Who knows. Probably just so that SpaceX can get attention. Half of what Elon does seems to be for no other purpose other than getting attention.

In the extreme off chance that this seriously caused damage to the moon, it would probably end all life on earth, or at least any life that's more complex than bacteria.

Fear not, they won’t make it that far
