First time I’ve seen this reported.

The state acquired the property from ExxonMobil as part of a June settlement resolving coastal-damage litigation against the oil company. Louisiana then sold the land to SpaceX.

For 100 million dollars.

Not sure that's technically accurate. I think I read that the Parish holds ownership of the land and is leasing it to SpaceX for essentially nothing.

The $100m was a direct fund of specific Coastal Master Plan projects. Of course there's a good chance that CPRA will go on a spending spree with that influx of cash.

Does Exxon usually keep you up to date with acquisitions, any pending litigation, or general capital expenditures? Or anything of the like?

I laughed at his response. Its not like Exxon is updating every shareholder of every move outside of earnings reports

So we, and by we, I mean Landry, traded away the billion plus free dollars from the BP settlement designated for the coastal master plan for $100 million, all in the name of “protecting porpoises.”

Well that’s a dumb statement, as read and received. Would you respond again using the King’s English? Or perhaps someone on this board can translate.

I seen a video of some residents saying they still haven’t been contacted about what’s going on in the area. That’s unfortunate I would have hoped someone would have gathered everyone in the immediate area just to brief them on what’s going on. I can understand not saying anything before the official announcement but it’s time to start engaging with the Pecan Island residents on how they can be taking care of.

They should go to the local bank and start building trailer parks for all the new workers to live during construction.
