I take that route 3 or 4 days per week, depending. They have been moving people through fairly fast, but I know that will stop when actual construction starts and not just prep work.

Questions for O&G folks. Each Starship launch will consume about 4,500 metric tons of methane. Projected 30 launches per week will require about 135,000 metric tons of methane.
How much natural gas does it take to produce that amount of methane and how does that compare with our current Louisiana natural gas production?

Did someone take a highlighter to a map??? That’s probably how Lafayette area road infrastructure is designed. Ain’t no way a loop is going through Youngsville now.

If you havent been to Starbase Tx, check it out on Google maps. That place is a steady flow of hustle and bustle. Built in marsh and on mud flats. The main road gets water coving it from time to time. Very primitive out there yet very high tech. You can drive up to just about everything out there. There is a community of houses built just for the operation there.

I just checked and my home in Lafayette qualifies for the Starlink discount so we might just switch, a Residential Max plan is $65/month, we are paying $95/month currently.

Would just weigh your needs and what you currently have.
I have fiber and little to nothing phases it. Was at my parents who have Starlink Max, and I was better off at times using my phone as a hot spot when a thunderstorm came through or they were streaming something and I had to do some work. It seemed fine for their security system, streaming, general phone/tablet browsing, but it did not like weather nor some of the uploads or downloads I was having to do. Meanwhile I can have my security, multiple TV's streaming, and a dozen buddies over with their laptops and phones during the storm Friday night and no one had an issue staying connected during our draft.
Just food for thought, not that you will host a ff draft, but if you do work from home or have other things that may require more bandwidth it may struggle.

I think Louisiana is trying to get as much in the Elon business as they can. The goal should be to transform this state into as business friendly a state as we can. Be more like Texas and Florida and Tennessee and less like...Louisiana.
Get in the Elon business. Work towards getting more SpaceX stuff here. Work towards being a center for Powerwall. Work towards getting a Tesla plant in CenLaw or NLA. Data centers. Whatever.
Have Texas AND Louisiana be the corridor for his companies, not just Texas

What do you have now? Pretty much any cable/fiber service is going to be better than Starlink. Starlink is great for folks that live in areas with out access to cable/fiber networks.

2 people killed this morning when a charter bus (assuming plant construction workers) and a car collided on hwy 27 between the Cameron and Calcasieu parish line. These are the things that Space X hopefully can avoid because Venture Global keeps having these issues.

Elon is going to have build a new airstrip behind Suire's at Cow island.
That 'airport' in Laffy isn't going to cut it. And Moisant is too far away.
Hell, Suire's may have to add a new building to handle the new business.
La.26 south through Jennings would be the logical highway to Pecan Island to widen and improve. This would bypass the congestion in laffy.
