I agree. Most of these "emotional support" dogs aren't owned by marines that did 3 tours in afghanistan and have PTSD. They are untrained animals that went to some "service animal" certificate factory.

When they said Baltimore, "deathly allergic to dogs" and had her pants ripped in her struggle, I assumed this was a "Color me shocked" situation.

It's really really tempting to get our small dog certified as an emotional support animal if nothing more than to rustle some jimmies.

An animal is an animal, calling it a "pet" is some weird way we justify our loneliness and convince ourselves that at least some sort of living creature "loves" us. They don't belong on planes, restaurants, wherever. If you feel the need to have one keep it at home.

I don't get the hate to service dogs. I have never had an issue with them. I hardly even notice them. They're usually more well behaved than the people in public.

Emotional support dogs are such BS. All you have to do is get a doctors note or a license online.
They are starting to create a stigma against people who are actually disabled and their support dogs.

Folks gotta get mad about something. God forbid we just let people go about their day if it has no affect on us. I'd rather people bring their dogs on planes, in restaurants, etc than their little screaming shite kids, but we can't all get what we want I suppose.

Do these people think that kicking and screaming is going to suddenly cause the officers to put them down and let them stay on the plane? That they'll change their minds? "Oh, well, she's a real kicker and screamer, let's leave her be".

There is no reason for the dogs to be aboard the plane. If you have anxiety about flying then maybe find alternate means to reach your destination.
Service Animals are trained to handle these situations. "Emotional Support" dogs are not.
