Southwest Removes Woman From Plane Due to Pet Allergy

CBS Los Angeles said the “woman had argued with police about an allergy.” She was from Baltimore and “refused to get off” after telling flight attendants she was deathly ill of dogs on the plane, CBS LA reported. The woman also accused an officer of ripping her pants off, CBS LA reported. CBS reported that there was a service dog and another animal on the plane, and the woman did not produce a medical certificate confirming she could safely fly on the plane.
“The woman stated she had a pet allergy but was unable to provide documentation that she could safely fly with the animals on the plane, Southwest said in a statement,” according to CBS News. “‘There was one emotional support animal and one pet onboard the aircraft,’ the company said. ‘Our policy states that a customer (without a medical certificate) may be denied boarding if they report a life-threatening allergic reaction and cannot travel safely with an animal onboard.'”

So she is "deathly allergic" to animals on the plane yet was fighting the police to stay ON the plane? That's a bold strategy. She's lucky to be alive today.
Could it be that she was possibly mildly allergic (or maybe even just annoyed by) animals on the plane and thought they would be removed and not her?

Having an emotional support animal on a plane is insane. Every time I've been on a plane with one, the dog is terrified and obviously not well trained.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out 98% of the time the system is just being abused by pet owners so their animals can fly in the passenger compartment.

So she has to provide documentation about a medical condition (yes, I know she was exaggerating) but people don't have to provide service animal documentation?

They are far better behaved plane passengers than 75% of adults. Don't usually smell as bad either.

If you have a deadly pet allergy wouldn't you make sure to ask if there's any service animals on that flight when you book it? If not, wouldn't you at least bring paperwork showing that you have the deadly allergy? Nah, that'd take personal accountability
