I tracked him down and he’s living in an RV park, so I doubt we will get anything out of that clown
Which one? I have owner contacts to the majority in the area and can have him evicted out of spite.

Has someone got the General Contractor signed up yet? Someone had to have texted him this thread right?
ETA: I just texted him a sign up link and this thread .

I bet your wife is pissed off if she’s physically ill over this. Nothing quite like an angry woman.
We did a remodel last year and were hit with numerous roadblocks from great honest contractors. 5 month delay in loan/refinance, supply shortage, COVID knocking out numerous crews, subs walking off the job you name it.
We were in a one room apartment with my kids and dogs. My wife went insane for the better part of 7 months and was pretty miserable to live with and my wife is incredibly rational.
I was closer to divorcing my wife after that than if she had cheated on me.

You are wrong in your assumption.
She should work on that.
I've never heard of an agent not having a connection with a contractor after years in the business.

I think you are confusing a handyman with a contractor. Most agents aren't doing deals that require more than someone to fix a few things that are found during a home inspection. No GC is jumping at the chance to go do a few hundred dollars worth of work.

I’m not on anyone’s team. You’ve created this conspiracy theory to absolve the Mexicans and blame realtors when no one but Trevor has tried to blame them.
Yeah, I’m not sure why that dude is trying to divide this up. I think it’s solely on Trevor. If the Mexicans do shitty work, it’s on Trevor for hiring them. It could also be on Trevor for telling them wrong procedures.
I don’t see this being on anybody but him.

There's nothing I've ever seen about $1500 and unless something has changed anyone can do work under $7500 without licensing or registration.
They changed it a year or two ago. Also added a lot more licenses - masonry, framing... even new licenses that previous licensees have to get in addition to their old licenses. The licensing board also inspects jobsites now and asks gc's to list all subs in the categories that require licenses as well as list the contract amount and the material amount. They are getting strict so this shite stops happening.

Can you point me to where there is anything that mentions $1500? I don't think there is. I know they have added more sub-classifications. They have been doing that for years.

Damn i can't find it online. 3 years ago I went back and added commercial to my residential license and I saw the $1500 limit for home improvement registration and was surprised by that. Maybe they've since gone back because thats insanely low and everyone would have to register?

I'm a sub contractor in Madison County Alabama and I believe the $1500 is the amount here.

pretty sure kin's doesn't even have an active work comp policy. i'm pretty sure he's the type that brags about being bonded on his truck somewhere.

Seems like the OT folks in the area should give this guy a chance at any job they have. I bet ol' Trevor gives free estimates and I bet if the OT started in, Trevor would be driving all over pricing jobs that we can all laugh at his wasted time later.

While I agree that paying up front is risky, there is absolutely a deposit requirement that is dictated by the contractor. It's up to hum or her. You just agree or not.
You are not good at understanding stuff like contracts or flowers or beer or women or rocks.
There is no “deposit requirement” you fricking moron. I’ve dealt with these contracts for 50 fricking years.
