Now. A “cylindrical item” was underneath the balloon? Are they trying other means to deliver weapon systems?
A launched missile is detected. But a balloon? Can it get into airspace without detection and drop a bomb or dirty bomb? You blow up the balloon the weapon still drops? You destroy a nuclear weapon it still detonates. 40,000 feet above ground is still a major problem.
