Louisiana official warns that 3 regions of the state haven’t met guidelines to enter next phase

Gov. John Bel Edwards is expected to announce Monday whether the state will move into the next phase of loosening restrictions meant to control the spread of the new coronavirus. Edwards didn’t say Thursday if he was leaning toward moving into the next phase, or whether he would consider issuing different rules for different regions.

But statistics Dr. Alex Billioux with the state Office of Public Health presented suggest the southwest, Acadiana and central regions of the state would not meet federal guidelines to further reopen. Edwards said he had not seen any indication that COVID cases will overwhelm health care capacity in any region of the state, which had been a concern when Louisiana was among the world leaders in case growth.

SW region of the state was never really hit so of course it's going to be impossible to stay at that level

that's why basing these milestones on raw increase/decrease without a floor is stupid

Numbers are awesome today FYI.

Case are down since they removed over 1,600 duplicates from their numbers and test totals are way up. Hospitals down. Only 12 deaths statewide the last 2 days.

*22 - I suck at math evidently. Still fantastic numbers

At this point it would be impossible to not conclude that anyone fighting to keep everyone locked down and stirring up panic is politically motivated to do so.

He's just the assistant secretary of LDH, an MD, and a PhD in philosophy and the state government's expert in epidemiology.

With all those degrees you'd think he'd be better at his job.

This. We have 0.0% chance of overwhelming our hospital system.

He may be smart, who gives a shite though because he's pushing an agenda instead of dealing in facts. How smart he is doesn't fricking matter.

But since you made the comment, I would absolutely take the combined knowledge of TigerDroppings over some agenda-driven government leach.

I don’t know whose numbers are right. All I can tell you is that about a week ago, a major hospital in this area was discharging it’s last COVID patient......and then that very same day.....got 16 new COVID admits (none on ventilators).
