It's still 50%.

ETA: Per OT standards, it's 3.50%

50% chance... at least that's what it would seem.

Thinking about it more though... 66.67% is the correct answer.

You're twice as likely to have initially picked the box with two gold balls if the first pull is a gold ball. So 66.67% of the time, you've picked that box and the other ball is gold. 33.33% of the time, you picked the mixed box and the other ball is silver.

Obviously this holds true if the first pull is silver as well. 2/3 boxes contain identical balls, so 2/3 times the second pull will be the same as the first.

66.7% - you know that the box with two silvers is eliminated, leaving only one possible silver ball out of 3.

ETA: I'm right.... SUCK IT DOWNVOTES

I guess if you pick a gold ball then that rules out the box with 2 silver balls.

So the box was either the one with 2 gold or 1 gold and 1 silver.

So you know you are starting with 3 golds and one silver and you just picked one gold. You have left 3 balls, 2 gold and 1 silver. So you odds of picking a gold ball next are roughly 67%.

I think, anyway.

Wrong. You are selecting out of 2 boxes. 1 will have a silver ball and the other will have a gold ball. The chances are 50/50.

1:2. It’s not about the balls at that point, it’s about the boxes.

It clearly states the same box.

Trick question, baw. This is the OT. We grab’em by the pussy, not the balls.

Exactly. The 67% folks are throwing the third box out of the equation without accounting for it.

That doesn't make sense.
