That’s been chiefly on my mind for a long time now. Far from perfect, however, I am so grateful for him raising us with values, morals, work ethic, and faith, as well as the lifelong commitment he made to my mom and us kids.

I think about this a lot. I find it amazing how certain people have the ability to disregard thousands of years of human history and invent their own view.

TLDR

It's boomers faults. They married young and discovered this thing called divorce and used it like it was an eraser for a pencil. Then when daddy and mommy start whoring around town since they are the Jones's everyone wants to be like the Jones's. Next thing you know there are pineapples everywhere and then genital warts. Shits gone to hell and back.

Being a dad breaks my heart for stories like this, especially for boys.

The pure joy that little boys exhibit with their dads, how they model everything you do, etc. It's just complete garbage that 40% of them in this country don't get to have that childhood, and mind-blowing that a similar number of men don't opt in for it.

The issues is absent parents (does not matter the combination of parents)

1 parent home - absent as the sole remaining parent is overrun or checked out
2 parent home - absent as both are distracted by the trappings of modern life

Absent
Mindless
Set adrift on the thin ice of modern life…

Yet, y’all talk so much shite about single moms and moms in general. At least these moms aren’t abandoning their kids and are paying for them while these deadbeats leave with no consequences or repercussions.

I will never understand the hate these women get when they’re not the ones getting someone pregnant and abandoning them with 100% of the responsibility child raising.

First, you're a guy

Second, nobody hates on responsible single moms. We hate on single moms who take duckface selfies and bring home boyfriends to their kids. Or those who have multiple kids with multiple men.

i know you're a dude, but do you have any idea how many of these situations are mothers keeping the kid away from the father for no good reason? it's not insignificant

Most single moms are the latter.

But you always have to ask why a woman is a single mother, even if she seemingly behaves well. Is she bad at reading good character in men? Is she attracted to terrible people?

There's a lot to fight through and it's a big reason why single moms are dangerous and destructive creatures.

This too.

The idea that kids raised in a 2 parent household turn out better simply because of that isn't necessarily the case anymore. I'd love to see research & stats on divorced homes where the kids are shuffled around every week. The environment, parents level of education, parenting styles- all these things also play a pretty significant factor.

A defining trend of the past 50-60 years in the western world has been the continuous assault on individual accountability and responsibility. The absentee father problem is the most damaging unintended outcome of that effort and will haunt society for the foreseeable future.

This is totally and utterly wrong. Just go back and edit your post. There are books dedicated to this topic that you should read

I'd like to see these so called books, because I've seen studies saying the biggest factor is two parents, not the sex of the parents. Two parents are more financially stable, two parents are more likely to have completed higher education, two parents have the ability to give the attention and encouragement that one parent regardless of sex can offer. A two parent household is just more stable, consistent, and has more resources.

You tell me a child from a single parent household vs a child from two parent single sex household is better off? I'm calling bullshite, big time. If the options are single parent home, split custody home, or two parent gay household, the child from the two parent gay household head and shoulders above the other two has a better chance of making it as a contributing member of society.

I don't care how nice the parents are, a teenage boy growing up with two moms is not normal and is terrible for his development. Same with a teenage girl growing up with two dads.
