I had the option of getting vaccinated by Jan 1 or be terminated. I’m not happy at all about it but I’m fully vaccinated now.

The bills would still keep coming whether I decided to stand my ground or not. It is what it is.

Clients require it, my firm doesn’t. I wasn’t going to put myself or my firm in a position where I couldn’t go on-site if I was needed, so I got it.

I don’t think there is anything nefarious about the vaccine other than it being a money grab, so I don’t really have any harsh feelings about my situation.

I am getting charged $10 per week for being not being vaxxed

Are they using that to pay for weekly tests? I can't figure out how else they can justify charging you for your vaccination status.

Our jobs were never threatened. They just offered some pretty nice incentives for getting it, so 95% of us got the shots

And here’s what it looks like to be detached from reality, folks

The policy they were going to implement at my place before the Court saved us said that only considered fully vaccinated if shots were in past 5 months.

I wonder if any company will change direction now? My assumption is the would not and stay the course unless people start quitting in droves.

About 10 years ago I worked for a company that changed management, fired a bunch of people, change some processes and conditions and many people quit.

They ended up firing the managers who implemented the change and asked people to come back. Most told them to eat a bag of Richards, but some returned for better pay.

I did not. I had told them they were making mistakes and they thanked me for my input right before they let me go.

Definitely seems like those people were discriminated against.

What are your thoughts, feelings and next move?

Do you stay with this company or do you move on from them?

Not sure you can sue them, but I am not a lawyer.

Despite the greenlight for the medical worker mandate, I suspect the stronger legal case is going to end up being healthcare workers fired at facilities that also allowed covid positve employees to work.

Legal cases balancing personal rights against government interests have to show different levels of justification for the infringing action.

Even if the justification that vaccinations are important enough to protect patients stood on up to legal scrutiny on its own, that requirement proves to be disingenuous, arbitrary, and probably discriminatory if they then allow actually contagious employees into the same facilities.

And keep in mind that the Supreme Court ruling was just for a preliminary injunction, so even if it's being enforced, it's not yet decided on the merits, which could still end up declaring the mandate illegal and establish grounds for victims to sue.

The OSHA rule created a shite ton of work, monitoring vax status, handling the tests, keeping the records.

IMO many companies will quietly revert unless they are True Believers, as it's a resource drain

What lawyer would take that knowing it would immediately get thrown out on MSJ?

I was more or less forced out of my job because of it. I had Covid in August, and they were going to fire me if I wasn’t vaccinated by the end of October. Since I was already on the fence about quitting due to management and payment issues, I just went ahead and resigned on my own terms.

What is this fee termed? Non compliance fee?

It’s a surcharge on my insurance. It’s the same cost for tobacco users and people who’s spouse has insurance from another company but chooses to use ours.

At this time we are not required to test but I do have to wear a mask while the vaxxed don’t.

I wear the mask in the door then take it off once I get to my desk. Stupidest shite ever
