So tired of seeing stories of “no pre-existing conditions“

The national news channels for days on end now lead off their broadcast with Covid coverage, in particularly younger people that are very sick or die from it. However if you actually watch the story and they show these victims, almost every single one of them is obese to morbidly obese. They even have the gall to describe these people as having “no pre-existing conditions” with the picture on screen of this extremely unhealthy person.
The bottom line is that for non-obese people under 65, this disease is simply not serious enough on a statistical basis to be worried about. There’s an easy argument that you actually get sicker on average from the flu than Covid if you are in this demographic.
What Covid is is the Grim Reaper for all of these extremely heavy people that for one reason or another have not been able to keep the weight off. We have all known deep down that people with this weight will face an early death, and it just so happens that Covid is the one to come to collect the debt. I blame this idiotic idea in America that being obese is completely acceptable and that we should not judge them.

I posted something along these lines on my social media account and got bashed by some lefties. Apparently they all knew a guy who knew a guy who was young and in good shape who had serious complications from it.

I got the same treatment. Lefties somehow always know a 22 year old who was an athlete who is now on a ventilator.

Yeah, maybe no diagnosed pre-existing conditions. Only because they didn’t see a doctor. A huge portion based on weight must have uncontrolled DM/HTN/CKD.

I work with a bar who lost his relative to COVID. He emailed everyone crying about how no pre-existing conditions and he was a young guy and if we think covids a joke then think again.

It's a lot like that "medical racism" article that made the rounds. They were saying that this girl was "a perfect picture of health" but she was the size of a hippo.

You don't always know of a pre-existing condition.
My mom m died at 43 of a pre-existing heart condition she didn't know she had.
Same condition that Wally Pontiff had.
Usually don't find that one until the autopsy.

The 9 year old in Florida was not obese, but she was chunky
Her father was murdered last month, it makes me wonder if stress / grief had wore her body down or if it wasn’t a stable home life
Probably a good mix
Sometimes for whatever reason a persons immune system just isn’t strong enough

just made 67 yrs. old on the 24th.
5'9" - was 195 lbs. so a little over weight. currently 181 lbs.
no other pre-existing condition.
mild fever 99-100. but average about 99.3
mild headache pressure, weak, chills.
doing better each day and for the most part no real issues anymore.
thank the Lord for his mercy.

Then turn off the damn news. Best decision you can make in your life. Find unbiased, fact based articles to read. Devote at most an hour of your day to getting the facts. Then go enjoy life.

yes, i have been worse with regular flu than this virus. 45+ years since the flu.

I had the flu in January of 2015. I told my husband I literally wanted to die. It was truly that bad and he kept checking on me — I was like “PLEASE go away”. If I never have it again I’ll be good.

I know a gal who has got to be 500+ pounds. Been in ICU with covid, pneumonia, edema. Now she's on the mend, hoping to go home next week.

50 lbs overweight per the current tables means most people.
Being in your 50's does not count as a pre-existing condition.
You are not smart.
