Had it done when I was 12.

It wasn't that big of a deal. The roof of your mouth will hurt a little but you'll be fine.

I need to get it done on one tooth right now. Have a referral from my dentist sitting on my desk right now. I've just been putting it off.

I thought I remember hearing years ago that they use cadaver skin rather than grafting from the roof of the mouth.

I think it will be less painful than you think. I had part of a toenail removed and I worried about how much that was going to hurt. I felt now way they can do this painlessly. Well, I didn't feel a thing. Modern medicine and modern oral surgery, you are going to be just fine.

Damn that sounds like it will be a tough procedure/recovery...

Did you dip all your life ? Just curious if that was the cause

Idk much, but I got a root canal once. They didn't numb me enough and he tested my nerve, and it shot pain to my toenail and toehair.. shot me up again, and i couldn't feel my face is a mack truck had rolled over it.

General anesthetics in dentistry are -insanely- powerful.

I wouldn't worry too much.

Had it done a while back over a couple teeth. Got donor tissue. I really don't recall any pain....or nothing Lortab didn't take care of. The worst part was having this bubble gum like material pasted over the recession site that you have to have on for about week after the procedure. Mine came loose a few days early and I had to go back and get it re applied. I healed fast though. Trust me...Opt for the donor tissue.

Damn dude. Brush your teeth.

Dentist thought my recession in one particular spot was actually bc of brushing too hard.

I have recession on one of my bottom front teeth. I don't dip. I'll get it fixed at some point this year.

Mine just added plates to my teeth around the base. It didn’t take long and it feels way better.

Girlfriend had it done a few months ago. It's not as bad as you might think. But your mouth will hurt for a solid week after. And that cast thing protecting the roof of mouth where they took the tissue is going be bothersome.
Make sure they give you real pain meds, not some weak arse tramadol. Everyone is different after this procedure because mouth nerves are a fickle whore.
She had to call back and get a real med to be able to sleep and work on day 2. Then she was fine by day 4.

Itll be ok if youre only doing a couple spots....i let them do my whole bottom jaw and the pain meds didnt touch it. Hurt like hell for a solid week. They used donor tissue for mine. I had my jaws broken to correct an underbite and the gum graft was by far worse, but I had oxy for the jaw surgery.

I had one done, he pulled gum from teeth nearby and used it. Hurt for a few days, ate soft foods.

I know a girl that had that done and said it wasn’t nearly as bad as it sounds and expected. That’s all I know.
