Due to recession underneath my bottom front teeth.

Basically they want to cut out a piece from the roof of my mouth and sew it to the gum beneath my bottom front teeth.

No sleep, usual injections to numb.

This sounds gruesome. Is it as awful as it sounds or surprisingly no big deal?

Did you arrange this appointment from Groupon, by shot?

Sounds awful, and sounds like you would look awful afterwards.

I need one too. I've been told by women with zero pain tolerance that it's actually not bad.

Mine used PST - pinhole sugery instead of grafting. It hurt, but not intolerable.

I'm a dentist.....MAKE SURE you are doing this with a periodontist! They can hook you up with an IV, and knock this out right quick. If you dont do it, the real problem is that where the gums have dropped, the bone has ALREADY dropped. So, time is of the essence. You will be mild to moderately sore for 48-72 hours...more from the donor site than the recipient site, and following post op instructions will be key to success

No, never dipped or smoked.

Excellent teeth. Braces. First cavity at age 27, two fillings total.

Dentist says it’s nothing I did and not related to tooth care. It’s just...the way it turned out. Genes, luck of the draw, etc

I've seen the procedure done under local anesthesia. It will be fine. It is becoming a relatively common procedure.

Thanks, yes a periodontist would perform.

Did the in-depth panorama of my entire skull and bone looks fine. Basically said what you said...if I don’t do anything then eventually bone will drop and teeth will fall out...not now, but in years ahead.
