as a pitbull owner, you should have put the dog down.

Tough to imagine a bite on the calf area if the child was approaching the dog.

You should be a better parent than that.

It's even harder to imagine that thumb nail size scratch being enough of a wound to cause alarm or anger.

If you showed that picture to 100 people without context, I wonder how many would say dog bite.

That's a legit bite.

But how is your 5 year old that hairy already? Does he also have a mustache?

he didn't have any hair before the bite, it must have been from all the testosterone pumped into his system from the bite.

Make sure you start a thread while you're lying in a hospital bed after your pit tries to rip your throat out.

it's tough seeing your kid get attacked by a dog.

Happened to MJ2's baby girl on her Birthday

Since the child was left unattended, who knows it was even a dog that bit him? I'm thinking werewolf.

dang, that's rough. i wonder if that would have been a more similar picture had he not had the jeans to protect his skin a bit.

Could have been a vampire?

he doesn't seem to want to acknowledge his fault in this incident.
Two people were at fault here. The owner of the dog and the parent of the 4 year old left unattended in a state park.

You should have purged the dog. One less rabid animal would be good

fortunately no. I'm sure it would have been much worse had it been.

I understand being unhappy about it - it's his kid. I don't know that I'd be in full blown alarm/flip out but I have not observed that behavior from the OP based on posts I've read here.

It's likely a good opportunity to teach a young kid about not going near large, unknown dogs without an adult present. Also a good opportunity for a parent to learn what can happen to a young kid if they go off by themselves.

As someone who has had many a bite I do not think there is a classic mark outside of obvious tooth punctures. Many bites over clothing (esp thick clothing like jeans) create more shearing forces rather than classic bite marks. The above looks consistnet with shearing IMO
