Then the OP is definitely fricked. The kid will soon be demanding backsplash and granite countertops for the locker...
she's gonna shiplap the hell out of her locker

Well, I think it's only those middle school girls that got their first ever lockers that all these decorations are popular. Usually goes out of style after a few years.

Just wait until when the little Baws figure this out

Post this on the Home and Garden board. Get some renovation ideas for the locker.
What she should really do is decorate her locker, then sell it and use the profits to buy two more un-decorated lockers. Flip those two, and use those profits to invest in some larger lockers, and so on. She could probably turn some of the smaller lockers into rentals. While those other girls are busy decorating their lockers, she'll be slowly buying all the lockers around them and driving up the real estate value. Before they know it, those other girls won't be able to afford the property taxes on their lockers anymore and will be forced to rent from your daughter at a ridiculous price. In the end, she wins and everyone else looses. She becomes queen of the sixth grade, and will be set for the rest of grade school.

Get her an old Van Halen poster.

What a difference from the 90’s where “not caring” was “in.”

I can honestly say that I never went to a school that used lockers.

Meh, we had dumb crap back in school too. Your 11 year old will only be 11 once (I’ve got one also starting 6th grade), let her have some fun.

You sure do get mad about a lot of things, CAD. Methinks you need some counseling
I never used my locker high school. Well, I tried, but always preferred to just carry around the 100-pound backpack then try to run around a crowded school to get my books from a locker in the allotted two minutes that we got between classes

They apparently don’t have lockers at my kid’s middle school. That is super WTF to me, but I guess it solves this problem. All the kids have to carry everything around all day. Lunch, gym clothes, laptops, etc.

Nobody does this at either school my kids attend. Seems like a public school thing.

Oh well. Whatever. Nevermind.

when did this become a thing?
It'll last a few months. She's 11, shes trying to find her identity. cut her some slack, take her shopping and give her a good bonding moment with you.

This issue came up when my son started 5th grade and had a locker, his mom was telling me how he needed this and that to decorate his locker. I asked my son if he wanted that crap, he said no, maybe a magnet or two. So when we went on a trip during the Summer we picked up a magnet or two and hell he was happy with that.
All that said, I think all of this decorating lockers crap is BS!

I sent the link of this thread to my wife... She said our daughter gets a shelf, because it's on her supply list...... That's it...
It's been a few decades since high school... I was just happy to have a top locker 3 out of the 4 years...

I was going to ask what a 6th grader needs crayons for but then I remembered we're in an era that colleges have safe spaces for crying, playing with playdo, etc. Way things are going she'll probably still need them after she graduates HS.

What school your kid goes to, CAD?
I have an 11 year old / 6th grade daughter. We bought her some stuff for her locker - I think a small mirror, a couple of shelves, she brought some pics, etc.
Now my wife did buy the kid a Vera Bradley schoolbag. However, it was from the outlet, like 75% off, which basically brought it down to the price of a good Jansport bag.
