The only option I see is to one-up them with shiplap and recess lighting. Then seal the deal with a Ring doorbell.

I agree with this concept and would have high expectations for Cad. I am thinking you can throw a cell phone in there so that she can have a hot spot, biometric entry, and voice controlled scheduler so she can get her messages and to do list as she opens the door.

Back in the day I stood watch while a cat was put into a locker.

Later good laughs were had by all, almost.

My daughter just graduated high school but had the locker "wall paper" I think in 6th grade or so. She spent HER money on it and then not long after all students had to remove it as they were told that the Fire Marshall said it was a fire hazard. To this day, she says that even if she was allowed to keep it, that it was the worst way she's ever spent HER money.

Someone mentioned dorm rooms -- we didn't by any means go over the top BUT we are making it comfortable for her as she'll be quite far from home and not home likely until Thanksgiving. Much of it will either work in her room at home OR be reusable in an apartment later.

I remember thinking WTH but I to this day assume that it was administrations way of not getting "blamed".

Right indeed -- she was good even then about saving birthday and Christmas money. I told her it wasn't needed and that I wasn't paying for it.

Do you have to be an arse?

This had to have been the natural progression from painting the parking lot spaces since public schools are moving to uniforms & the kids "can't express their individuality".

So we went from spaces to lockers. Next it'll be desk decorations.

She’s lucky they got lockers. My son is in 7th grade and no lockers. In a brand new school no less. Has to carry everything for 5 different classes per day around with him in a 30 pound backpack.
