As I mentioned in the other thread. With the new razor companies that have popped up over the past 5-7 years, Gillette has been taking a beating. Just look at their stock. Those companies sort of go the "manly man" route. So Gillette decided to go in another direction.

This is why everyone who thinks this is a horrible decision by Gillette doesn't work in marketing.

No one is trying to change your life or American values.. Or the world. They just want to increase sales. That's what it all comes down to.

After reading your post it’s become quite clear to me you have the same business sense as the average 5th grade girl.

Scratch that... 3rd grade girl.

They know who this ad will reach and it's going to have the desired affect.
Who is it supposed to reach?

Scruffy just doesn’t see the positive impact.

Feminists already hate Gillette for their pink razors and more expensive prices for female products, and everyone who has switched to a cheaper option isn’t going to switch back because of this ad.

Scruffy just doesn’t see who they were targeting.

Maybe that is why he isn’t in marketing.

As stupid as this campaign seems to be, they're not dumb. They know who this ad will reach and it's going to have the desired affect.

It’s hilarious how y’all think that ad campaigns are infallible.

Remember how battlefield V, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, etc couldn’t help but rub their. Agenda in Everyone’s face?

How did that work?

Those numbers are pretty old (given the short time frame) it is up to almost 20m views now and the positive/negative ratios has moved from 10:1 to less than 2:1.

Hard to tell the final outcome, PG shares are holding steady and they have been on a large uphill move against the market in the last few months. I put a sell stop limit on the handful of shares I have just in case.

You actually believe those numbers organically changed that dramatically?

Proverb

(US) An offended or defensive response to a statement suggests that the statement applies to the person complaining.

It really seems like the majority of responses to this topic prove the truth behind this saying.

I’ve been boycotting Gillette for years. I learned long ago how overpriced their razors are.

Black racists saved Nike, don't know if there are enough black racists to save Gillette....
