You’re why the system was created. You’re doing what you can, and want to work. It’s the ones who play the system so they don’t have to that are the issue. Wish you the best with your health, and family.

You couldn’t make it two months without needing assistance? This is why America will have huge depressions and recessions..people are too dependent on income

Your situation is exactly the kind of thing the food stamp program was meant for. No need to be ashamed or embarrassed. Take care of your health so you can be there for your kids. Good luck to you.

Gonna give you some real talk.
You’re posting this because you feel guilty and want a pat on the back. You feel shitty because you’re proud of the fact that you were self sufficient (as you should be) and now you feel like you’ve lost your agency. You got knocked on your arse and for the first time you find yourself incapable of fixing it on your own. Don’t continue down this line of thinking. Swallow your goddamn pride and do what you gotta to make sure your kids go to bed warm and with a full belly. You’re feeling sorry for yourself. The best way to regain that pride you had before all this, is doing everything you can make that happen. So man up and good luck

Do you have enough cash to pay all your regular bills and several 10s of thousands of dollars of medical bills in an instance?

am I a no good piece of shite loser

I have a good job and I’ve always worked. The problem is that I had 4 mini strokes the first week in September and haven’t been able to work since. I tried but the dr won’t release me. I had surgery at the start of this month to correct the problem and they couldn’t do it. I go next week to Birmingham so another dr can give it a shot. Best case scenario, the second surgery works and ’m out another 4-6 weeks. I didn’t want to apply for help, but I’m a single father of 3 and the money I have saved up will only last so long.
quote:That's hard. Don't know what I'd do about that. But keep at it, doing the best you can, and your kids will one day thank you for dedication.
I haven’t told my kids bc I’m embarrassed. Also, I don’t want them to worry. It’s been tough enough on them as it is.

There's a time and place for a discussion about this issue (like the PT), but this isn't it.

You have already paid for Food Stamps in the taxes you pay yearly.
I hope you get whatever help you need to get through this. Try not to stress about things like food stamps-your kids need you.

Saying a prayer for you tonight. It’ll all get better!

Brah, this is the exact reason these programs exist.
Not a single person will judge you.
I'm not a religious person, so I'll send all vibes or whatever your way.
Get well hoss.

I think you need to state your race so the OT can determine if you're a lazy dindu nuffin or needs thoughts and prayers.

No, you don't suck. You legitimately need it. You aren't just taking advantage of the system.

What?
No. You are using the safety net exactly as it's been designed to do.
Get better. Quit worrying about it this trivial shite. I know it's hard but do what you have to do.

You’re legitimately entitled. I hope things work out for you.

Food stamps are for people in your situation...
Stop letting shame frick with your head and use that shite proudly until you kick it, or can head back to the j-o-biscuit
Get yours, that's some of the point of all the taxes we pay...
Better yet, hit the food bank, too--double dip

This is what it’s meant for. Unlike those pieces of shite that do nothing but sit around popping out kids for more free money.
Good luck!
Ps, I knew a piece of shite in college whose family was middle class but he was able to claim food stamps. THAT person was and still likely is a piece of shite.

Nope. I'm glad tax dollars help people in your situation. It's the people that won't try at all that shouldn't receive anything.
