From parents on political talk so it has to be true

highlights from their inclusivity training at SJA in Baton Rouge

- White priviledge
- Defunding the police and why its reasonable
- To correct disparity caused by generational wealth, the white kids should consider going to a community college instead of a 4 year university to make room for minorities.

How do the OT parents feel about this?

If that's true, a lot of kids are going to be enrolled somewhere else very soon. My kid would be.

I hear if you go to community college you usually get pregnant.

In tennessee, community college is free for 2 years.

If my kids were college age today, I'd push for them to take their prerequisites for free locally before heading to college to figure out what they want to study.

The kids who I saw go into a trade are now making more than my college educated children. Except my son who said F college after one year and is now a finance manager at a large car dealership. Makes more than you'd guess.

They should go to community college if they can’t handle a 4 year. Or a trade school. But not because of generational wealth. It’s a good place to start if you have no idea what you want to do or where to go with your life.

Nothing worse than seeing a career waiter in a restaurant.

Zero chance that's true.

That actually might do the opposite. Two-year degrees can be very lucrative, depending on your chosen profession, with almost zero student loan debt when it's all said and done. Minority students going to a four-year university, getting a worthless BA degree, could end up with no job and $50,000 worth of student loan debt.

We had a lot of kids who took this plan

Almost all flunked out It’s a good idea in theory, but from my ancedotal experience those kids just got burned out being an environment where most people didn’t give a shite

Another institution or business seemingly trying to intentionally sabotage itself.

Look it up. Over 50% of girls that attend community college wind up pregnant before they leave.

They can’t get in on merit. It’s nothing to do with wealth. Check their gpas, ACT/SAT test scores, community service, class ranking, extracurriculars, honor/AP classes.

Imagine a school charging 13,000 a year preaching to its students to go to community college instead of prestigious universities

I mean, that’s a hell of a selling point to want to dish out 13 grand

I'd be interested in data on this, but it'd be tough to distinguish between the kids who were college bound prior to cc enrollment vs the kids who had no other option.

Are we sure this was actually school sponsored and not just some teacher going rogue?

Minorities taking basics at a 4 year college at 4 year college rates is one way to ADD to the "generational wealth gap".
