Is all the junk we add to our cars too. I'm considering repainting and reupholsetering my 07 truck rather than buy a new truck. I rarely use it anymore. It's a 3rd or 4th vehicle but still nice to have a truck.

non luxury suv become 80k
Define "non luxury".
Just because it has the Chevy brand does not mean it's not luxurious. This is the trap we fall into. The Suburban is a very nice and certainly luxurious vehicle. Big V8, body-on-frame, leather seats, big stereo, sunroof, power everything.
I mean do you really need a Lexus or Cadillac tag to convince you it's "luxury"? 16 way power seats instead of 8-way? 24 speakers instead of 12? What features of the Suburban are not luxurious?
When you consider the average joe in Europe, Asia, South America drives a 2L 4-cyl Jetta and a 3.0 V6 E350 is considered a rich man's car, a 6.0 Suburban at 20'+ with 3 rows of seats is literally two tons of car!
The suburban can comfortably carry 6+ people for 400+ miles with all their luggage, up a snowy mountainside in Vail, all while towing your 30' Chris Craft as if it weren't there. Your buns are warm from the heated seats, Zeppelin playing through the Bose stereo, outstanding ride quality, quiet road noise, open the power hatch to get your skis...
Madison avenue creates demand for stuff and implies in the mean time that "old stuff" is low rent. That's how you wind up in debt up to your eyeballs.'
I know plenty of millionaires that drive Suburbans because they think it's plenty nice and the Escalade is extraneous flash.

just keeping people like dave ramsey in business because retards who can't afford shite like this bury themselves in debt in the literal dumbest ways (buying an 80k vehicle while making 80k/yr and taking out absurd loans lasting over 5 years and paying over 800/mo-1000/mo) and panic because they can't get ahead

Since when did full size non luxury suv become 80k?
Many folks don't care about the total price, just the payment. They look at it just like a utility bill.

Fair point. And you are also pointing out how luxury brands like Lexus and Cadillac rely more on gimmicky styling and unnecessarily massive touch screens to set them apart....since the typical qualitive aspects that go with a luxury vehicle are also found on higher trim Chevrolets and Toyotas.

Not even close.
My local dealer website shows RWD High Country's (with the top level deluxe package) in the low 80s and 4wd in the mid 80s

FYI the Denali is no longer the top GMC trim. It's now the Denali Ultimate, which is $95,000.

There's a sizable and growing segment of the population that will literally never be able to retire.

Wrong. Start at 74k for a Denali. 77k for XL.

What would TT&L be on a $100,000 truck?

I would love a square body Suburban. Just a few years ago you could get a decent one with about that mileage for under $14,000.

Go talk to your dealer. I promise by the time you pull off the lot, you are north of 100k.
I just went through this twice. (But a year ago when inventory was worse than it is now)

YES!!! 100PCT THIS!!! Madison avenue creates demand and we follow blindly.
"OMG we must be baws instead of ballers if we don't have (2) 24" screens and 34-way power seats folks at travel ball are gonna think jaxton and braxton are poors!!!
